Ernie Marjoram?s "Painting Trip"

For Artists & Friends to
Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and Bagno Vignoni in Tuscany, Italy

June?30 through July 11, 2008

HIGHLIGHTS OF TOUR:

  • FLORENCE
A chance to live and paint in the Renaissance city of Firenze, ?Il Magnifico?. Home of the powerful Medici Dynasty and the works by Michelangelo. Visit the Uffizi Gallery, the Ponte Vecchio, the ?David? and the Medici Tombs. ?Shop-Till-You-Drop? in Florence & try the best gelato at ?Vivoli?.
  • BAGNO VIGNONI
Bagno Vignoni is a delightful Tuscan village centered around a Roman Pool that was visited by St. Catherine & Pope Pio II centuries ago. Except for the amenities, little has changed over time. The beautiful views and the people of this town will capture your heart and your imagination. A rare opportunity to get to know life in a Tuscan village!

A chance to paint and/or sketch views which include thermal pools, green hillsides, distant vistas of the Val d?Orcia countryside, grape vineyards, fields of wheat, and medieval architecture.?
  • SAN GIMIGNANO
The "pearl" of Tuscany. Paint & photograph its medieval towers and elegant palazzos. Paint the soft Tuscan hills surrounding San Gimignano.
  • SIENA
Siena ?the Beloved? is a mystical, gentle, passionate and generous art center. Siena invites the participant, on the tour, to stroll, paint & sketch its narrow Gothic streets, lined with palaces and patrician mansions, which converge on the famous Piazza del Campo. More than anywhere else Siena brings to life the reality of a medieval city.
  • FIESOLE
The village of Fiesole stands in the foothills above the city of Florence. A considerable number of interesting finds from the Etruscan period ? ur ns, bucchero, clay and bronze statues ? together with other objects from the Roman times are to be found in the museum near the archaeological zone. Remains from the original Etruscan settlement 6th century B.C. include various stretches of the original city wall and the ruins of a temple with two wings and two columns in the pronaos.

If your passion is drawing, painting, photography, enjoying life or all of the above, the variety and beauty of the Italian countryside, the ancient ruins, the people, their culture and cuisine will inspire you. My painting demonstrations will cover composition, proportions, light and shadow, reflections along with perspective and color mixing.

In the medium of your choice, you will practice these techniques with individual instruction. You may also choose to participate in group critiques. Come see why Italy has been a source of inspiration for countless generations of artists. "
